Humayun's Tomb

Humayun's Tomb in Delhi is the epitome of Mughal architecture. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. After death of Humayun in 1556 , his wife Hamida Banu Begum ( Bega Begum) started the construction of Humayun's Tomb. The construction of tomb started in year 1569.                                    Architects from Persia were called. Mirak Mirza Ghiyas was the main architect from Persia. Though the tomb is Mughal at core but it's designs are inspired by Persian architecture.   Facts about Humayun's Tomb: 1. The construction started 14years after death of Humayun in 1569. 2.
