About temple :
✅ A historic Hindu temple , located in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, India.
✅ Dedicated to Shiva.
✅ Built in about 700 CE by Pallava dynasty King Narasimhavarman II with additions by Mahindravarman II.
Features:
✅ Built in Dravidian style of temple architecture.
✅ A square plan with Mukha mandapa ( entrance hall) , a Maha mandapa ( gathering hall) and a Garbh griha ( sanctum) topped with 4 storey Vimana.
✅ Main sanctum was surrounded by 9 shrines .
✅ Temple was intricately carved with themes of Shaivism and also Vaishnavism , Shaktism and Vedic deities.
✅ Walls have many inscriptions in early scripts.
